
The award recognizes a person acknowledged as an ambassador for Business Continuity Management and was decided by public vote. It was presented to Mr Magan at an event held at the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower in Mumbai on 30 September, 2009.
Vijay Kumar Magan is Lead Auditor for BSI India on BS 25999, BSI’s globally recognized Business Continuity Management Systems standard. He also oversees assessment of Business Risk Assessment, Quality Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. Vijay has carried out over 1,400 assessments in India, the Middle East, South East Asia, Japan and Australia.
Mr Magan said: “I am delighted to have been given this recognition by the BCM community in India. BCM is an increasingly important element of an organization's risk mitigation strategy and BSI has produced a range of tools and services which can assist in putting BCM provisions in place. BS 25999 is the key standard in this area and has been used successfully by organizations around the world.
